Growth! (update on French Yoga)

Remember the French Teacher’s class I was crying about avoiding last week? I had it tonight and I must say I’ve really come to like it.  I get personality, sass, jokes and yoga entertainment all week and it’s becoming a soothing, no frills alternative to that. It makes me focus more and I find my meditation has become so much stronger for the next few classes after I take it. See life, growth…just like in this yoga everyday there’s growth and I’m grateful for it!

45 days done - Bikram update

I’m in the early 40’s of my Bikram yoga Challenge (90days?) and I know this is a truly tough part (b/t day 40 and 60). I’ve lost 17lbs so I feel as though I can loosen up a bit and get away with it which is a danger zone for me. I’ve been OD’ing all day on the Greek God’s honey yogurt and found some gluten free cereal to nosh on. My diet today was 0% raw…0% - I’ve been hitting 80% consistently.  Last night’s class (Friday) was super hypoxic. There was no air.  I don’t mind the heat or burning up - it’s when I can’t breathe that bothers me. It pisses me off. I get mad - mostly at the teacher. When the room is packed you HAVE to open the windows more or it becomes like breathing sawdust. We’ve been having a lot of sold out classes and I’ve been setting up front and center in the middle and hottest part of the room. Now that I think of it, my other horrific class was last Friday -same teacher. I try to avoid her but it’s the last class of the night and I procrastinate. This Friday, it was the boy that made me later (what I really wanted to see him:)…I think in order to survive tomorrow and the next couple of days, I need to coddle myself and get close to the windows.  I’ve been in oversold classes in that room and had no problem outside of the usual challenges of the yoga. The yoga is challenging enough without the distractions of lack of air. I’ve also started going back to the gym so Wednesday I did my first triple in a few weeks. I’ve had a few interesting classes (including one that started teacherless) but haven’t had the time to go into them(i’ve been working on my websites). When I wake from this nap I plan to go IN and update all of this.

17 lbs!

Moist men on the train…:/

If you’re a grown man in decent shape on the train drinking muscle milk taking up 2 seats and a girl gets on with her hands full of groceries and a heavy bag. You should get your moist punk ass up!  Meanwhile, the other super moist punk next to him’s giving me eyes and checking for my booty - i wish you WOULD try to holler from such a punk, moist, ill mannered position(is the face I gave him)!!!!

So - finally my scale’s consistently moving thanks to extreme sugarlessness, Bikram yoga daily (day 30+)  and random cardio and living. It’s looking like .5 - 1lb/day.

Seriously though greek yougurt is aMAZING!I just discovered this treat within the last couple of months on my sugarless eating regime. (No sugars, gluten, yeast, flour, brown rice, etc…pretty deep:) My only sugar allowances are yogurt (to restore the natural b.c’s into my belly) and Zico coconut water 1-2x/week after a crazy hard day in the hot yoga room or between workouts on double/triple days. AnyWAY - I guess my former cake junkie taste buds and palate has changed. It’s amazing - It’s creamy and sweet and all kinds of awesome. It has a TON of fat in it, so the odds of seconds are slim. Trust, I’ve totally tried the fat free - even reduced fat (yuck!)- it may as well be sour cream! p.s. I have it with a couple of lightly salted brown rice cakes (yummmm!)!!! One thing I’ve kept in my flexi eating style is to eat something super enjoyable, just less of it = say NO to fat free greek yogurt! :) and yes to super yummy full fat Trader Joe’s brand honey yogurt!

French Yoga ~day 30-something

french yoga

So I was designing websites all day Sunday. Yesterday, my hangin buddy decided to come over and I spent the bulk of the day lounging around and have a staycation with him. I only had time to catch the last class. I looked on the schedule and the most dreadful thing I could imagine one of the very few teachers I avoid was teaching. In the past, I’ve bussed and trained across town and even changed my day’s workout schedule to AVOID her class in the past. I’m not attached to teachers. I like a good teacher as much as the next person. The right teacher will have a demeanor that will make your class zip by in a flash even on an exhausting day.

Beware:un-positive and pretty Judgemental Statements (clouded by the heat and humity of the Bikram room)

Last year, during my 116 day challenge, I had about 4 dredful/bs classes in which I didn’t try my hardest and/or just gave up-(just like in life) One of those classes was hers.  I was by the window that she opened so much that I actually started to chill. I felt like I was cheating and I was pretty down, so during the floor series, I gave up and lied there for 20 min. Her accent is like the Sasha Baren Cohen Fench impression in Talladegah Nights “grrrrab yuh fuuthe vith jor hands and pyuool” (grab your foot with you hands and pull) . It’s not monotone, but there are about 2 notes that she fluctuates back and forth between really robot-like.  On an awareness danger note, it is so very easy to tune her and class out and start thinking about life, boys, to do lists and other not-annoying things=total yoga danger! Energy wise, it’s as though she’s teaching from another planet.

Life Lesson Inside!

I learned a VALID lesson today. 1. I’ve grown a lot since then - I’m much stronger. and 2. God and Life will find you whereEVER you are in the mids of crapolla!  For starters, b/c of my all day lounging (prob coupled with endorphins) my body was well rested and almost EVERY pose was stronger.  She also said some really simple things in her quest for English that registered deep within me. i.e. Instead of change, she says “go back to the plahss (place:) and that is SO true in life. Let’s not get bogged down with how hard the day/posture was.  If we stay put, breathe and go back to the place (wherever it is) we will forever stay on track! I’ve still got a TON of judgement issues to work out!
